Editorial standards
Natural persons are edited to a standard that asks for a primary source or independent verification before a materially adverse factual statement is published.

Attribution stays on the claim
A sentence should say what the document says. A membership interest of an LLC is not rewritten as a person's ownership. A combined cost category is not rewritten as one vendor's fee. A complaint is not rewritten as a finding.
Words that require the document and a legal review
The news pages do not use accusation labels for fraud, theft, kickbacks, laundering, sham transactions, or self-dealing unless a reviewed source supports that exact proposition. If a complaint alleges misconduct, the story says a complaint alleges it, names the date, and states the case status.
Implication
Headlines, charts, and juxtaposition are part of the article. Ownership charts do not place a person under a member LLC without a source that establishes that person's interest. Unknown beneficial ownership is a gap in the record, not a graphic that suggests concealment. Dollar figures are not set beside a person unless the source connects that person to that figure.
People
Profiles carry project role, company relationship, dated offices, and sourced project actions. They do not carry home addresses, personal phone numbers, family details, health, immigration status, personal wealth estimates, or unrelated court matters.
Fair report
Court coverage waits for the docket. Status words stay narrow: alleged, charged, held, settled, dismissed, or appeal pending, and only when the record supports that word.
Reply
For a materially adverse story that is more than a neutral restatement of an official record, the subject should be told the specific claim, given a deadline, and quoted fairly if they respond. Silence is described only as no response by the deadline.
Corrections and legal notices
Ordinary errors are corrected in place and logged. A demand that a statement is defamatory is preserved, routed to counsel, and not argued in public while that review is open. Florida presuit-notice timing can matter, so the legal-notice address has to reach a person the same day.
